Help

1. What Is The Aroma App?

The Aroma App is a community database of aromatherapy blends. It’s a
useful way to store your favourite blends, as well as searching for new
blending ideas.

2. What Are The Aroma App Rules?

The Aroma App does not endorse ingestion, inappropriate use or undiluted
topical use of essential oils.

The safety information for each essential oil is based on industry-agreed
standards of safety and good practice.

Any blends that are considered to be unsafe or inappropriate, based on
these guidelines, will be deleted. This is at the discretion of The Aroma
App and its team of moderators.

Any comments that are considered to be inappropriate, abusive, illegal,
misleading or threatening will be deleted. This is at the discretion of
The Aroma App and its team of moderators.

Self-promotion and/or soliciting other users via comments or private
messaging is not allowed.

Users may be suspended for failing to comply with these rules.

3. How Do I Search For Blends?

You have two options:

a) View by Category
b) View by Application

View by Category

Blends are organised into different categories. Choose a specific
condition – e.g. stress – to view all the blends within that category.

To select more than one category at a time, go to Advanced Search.

View by Application

Alternatively, you can view blends according to their application – e.g.
diffuser blends, personal inhalers or roller bottles.

4. How Do I Read A Blend Profile?

The blend title is shown at the top of the profile.

The ingredients of the blend are displayed in separate circular icons.
These are colour-coded according to their fragrance note:

Top notes: Blue
Middle notes: Yellow
Base notes: Green
Carrier oils and other ingredients: Black

Below each circle you can see the name of the ingredient and its Latin
name, where applicable. Click ‘Oil profile’ to view a detailed pop-up
profile for each essential oil, including Latin name, category, botanical
family, scent description, note, blending partners, uses, safety
precautions and child-safety (*Premium users only)

Buttons: The purple buttons allow you to adjust the display
according to your preferences. By default, the ingredients will be
displayed in drops. Alternatively, you can display the ingredients in
millilitres (ml), fluid ounces (fl.oz) or percentages (%).

Show Carrier: To view the blend including carrier oil and/or other
ingredients, click ‘Show carrier’ (where applicable). Once the carrier oil
is shown, you can choose to display the entire blend as drops & ml
or drops & fl. oz. This does not apply to blends without a carrier,
such as diffuser blends or personal inhalers.

Adjust quantity: This allows you to easily adjust the quantity of
the blend to suit your requirements. The Aroma App does the calculations
for you!

Dilution: The dilution percentage for each blend is automatically
calculated by The Aroma App.

Safety: The safety precautions for each blend are automatically
generated by The Aroma App. These are based on standard industry
guidelines.

Star icon: Click this to add any blend to your watch list. This
can be used to save favourite blends for easy reference, or to easily find
a blend at a later point in time. To access this list, select My Watched
Blends from the main menu.

Ratings: Rate a blend by clicking the ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’
icon. This is a useful tool for providing feedback to other users.

Comments: Each blend features a comments section. This is a way of
discussing your opinions of the blend, providing feedback and sharing your
experiences. Let other users know about any success stories! Click ‘Start
new thread’ to make the first comment.

When you comment on a blend, that blend will automatically be added to
your list of My Watched Blends.
